The revised Policy will be effective 180 days from when the revised Policy is posted in the Service and your continued access or use of the Service after such time will constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. Information We Collect

Registered accounts (optional)

If you create a Music Quizly account, we process authentication data through our provider (Supabase Auth). That may include your email address (for email sign-in or when provided by a social login), a display name you choose, and optional game-related profile fields such as lifetime round counts or milestone badges used to show progress in the game. We also store your choices about marketing communications and timestamps when you accept our Terms and Privacy Policy, where applicable.

When you use Music Quizly, we may collect the following types of information:

• Game Data: Player names, room codes, scores, game preferences, and audio volume settings
• Analytics Data: Website usage patterns, device information, browser type, and location data
• Third-Party Data: Information from Spotify and Deezer when you interact with music content
• Spotify OAuth Data: If you connect Spotify, we process OAuth tokens and playlist metadata (including private playlists you authorize) to let you browse and import playlists
• Technical Data: IP addresses, session information, and WebSocket connection data
• Communication Data: Any messages or feedback you send to us; feedback may include an opaque browser support id (stored locally) so we can follow up in-app

We may also disclose your personal information for the following: (1) to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order or other legal process; (2) to enforce your agreements with us, including this Privacy Policy; or (3) to respond to claims that your use of the Service violates any third-party rights. If the Service or our company is merged or acquired with another company, your information will be one of the assets that is transferred to the new owner.

Your Rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have a right to access and rectify or erase your personal data or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to the active processing of your data, ask us to share (port) your personal information to another entity, withdraw any consent you provided to us to process your data, a right to lodge a complaint with a statutory authority and such other rights as may be relevant under applicable laws. Spotify Account Connection

When you choose to connect Spotify, Music Quizly uses Spotify Authorization Code OAuth to request permission to read your playlists (including private playlists if you grant that scope). We do not ask for permission to modify your Spotify account content.

• Token Storage: Refresh/session tokens are stored in secure, HttpOnly cookies on our service and are not exposed to client-side JavaScript
• Persistence: We may keep your Spotify connection for up to 30 days so you do not need to re-authenticate every visit
• Security Controls: OAuth state verification, PKCE, and encrypted session handling are used to protect the connection flow
• Revocation: You can disconnect from within Music Quizly and/or revoke app access in your Spotify account settings at any time

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your gaming experience. To learn more about how we use these and your choices in relation to these tracking technologies, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

We also use browser local storage for strictly functional game settings and continuity. This may include your default player name, live-player volume preference, duplicate-tab protection state, and room-specific player keys. Room-specific player keys are automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity. You can clear local storage at any time in your browser settings, but doing so may reset saved gameplay preferences.

Data Security

The security of your information is important to us and we will use reasonable security measures to prevent the loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration of your information under our control. However, given the inherent risks, we cannot guarantee absolute security and consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.
